Bisaya Vegetarian

Sustainable Eating in the Philippines and the Bisaya Vegetarian

Lechon ug Liempo,
Dinuguan ug Danggit,
Barbecue ug bananacue...

the result:
high: blood pressure, cholesterol, uric acid, sugar,
chest pains, reheumatism & diabetis,
fatty liver, failing kidneys and over the top waistlines...

young cebuanos love to gorge on this type of food,
eating contests are held at all you can eat restaurants...
but hitting forty come with the effects of all that unhealthy food,
talk centers on blood test results, urine exams, mris and 2d echos,
get togethers are no longer  eating focused but exercise centered...

very recently, i was declared topnotcher,
in the latest unhealthy board exams,
i got the highest rank, way above the mean,
for cholesterol, uric acid, sugar, fatty liver,
name the exam, i topped it...

a tragedy???
no, a blessing....

i discovered that the enigma of wellness,
is really so simple and doable...

i became born again,
yes, i have been baptized...
a bisaya vegetarian:
raw fruits and vegetables,
fruit & vegetable juices,
sea vegetables,
steamed & blanched veggies,
fermented fruits & veggies...

all you can eat,
no rice, no cooked oil,
nor garlic, onion & mushrooms,
yummy...

here is my dinner today
lettuce salad with 3 types of dressing (tofu mayo; carrot jalapeno; mango-squash-avocado),
coco jackfruit, mango seaweeds with sesame seed vinagrette, sweet corn
