Henna Tattoo, Sinulog 2011, Cebu

Since 1980, Cebu has celebrated the Sinulog Festival without fail. In the recent years, what has made it interesting for locals like me, is the influx of henna tattoo artists from many parts of the Philippines. For many years now, the Sinulog has been synonymous with  getting a henna tattoo from some cool artist with dread locks,  bob marley shirt and rastafarian accesories. There are dozens of artists that set up their shops along the parade route. Most artists  hang out around Fuente Osmena and Mango Avenue.

Of course, there are also lots of vendors selling tattoo transfers for P25. The kids love these tattoos.
